This session asks the question “can we make Java microservices as fast as those written in Go?” We will employ tools like the latest versions of the Java language, Oracle’s Helidon microservices library, GraalVM native image compilation, and “from scratch” Docker containers, along with test and performance harnesses to try to prove that we can in fact write microservices using Java that will startup and run just as fast as those written in compiled languages like Go.
